It's a very classic German pils nose that is spot-on, but perhaps a bit timid overall. S: Pleasant dough and grain pils malt aroma coupled with a kiss of herbal spice, subtle lemon zest, and more overt notes of lime leaf.
Rocky white head retains well at a solid two fingers and leaves gobs of lacing in its wake. Highly recommended! Jun 14, 2022Ī: Dull golden color with perfect clarity. The nose and palate pop more, the mouthfeel is amazing, and the thick creamy head sticks around for the whole glass. Also, on tap at the brewery is a better experience in my opinion. Counterweight does make some brewery only lagers that top this one, but for a beer that's always on the shelf it is hard to beat. O: This is a very drinkable beer and at $9.99 a four pack of 16 fl.oz.
The mouthfeel is soft and smooth with a light dry finish. The citrus crescendos on the back end where the slight sweetness is blunted by definite spice notes and a nice bitterness on the finish.į: Medium-light body with medium carbonation. In the middle the Citrus intensifies and is supported doughy malt notes mixed with a bit of bread crust and a light sweetness. On the front I get grass and some light citrus notes. I don't know if it's the new horizontal lagering tanks in their new facility, but the nose is not as subdued as I remember it being last year. S: Some grassy notes, citrus, just a touch of bread crust, and a barely perceptible hint of spiciness. As the beer goes down it leaves a light spotty lacing. The head falls to about a 4 mm ring around the circumference of the glass with a thin film of head covering the middle of the glass. The pour results in two fingers of fine, white head. L: Pours a pale straw color with crystal clarity.
